From January 2022 to December 2024, R. Sakayaseeli, in collaboration with Misereor, spearheaded a transformative initiative aimed at fostering peace and justice through a modern, dynamic, and youth-centered approach. This comprehensive program prioritized Peace Programme Awareness among school students and youth, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping a harmonious future. By addressing the root causes of conflict and promoting conflict mitigation strategies, the initiative equipped young individuals with the skills to navigate differences, resolve disputes peacefully, and embrace diversity as a strength.
The program included a wide array of activities designed to engage and inspire participants. Through interactive workshops, awareness campaigns, and community-based social activities, students and youth explored key themes such as non-violence, tolerance, and justice. By combining education with action, the initiative ensured that theoretical concepts were translated into real-world applications, fostering empathy and understanding within schools, neighborhoods, and beyond. The inclusion of modern tools and methods made these activities relatable and impactful, resonating deeply with the youth.
